[MLA] out-of-rebook specification CD?

Greetings MLA group and Daniel,

I hope you all are well.

This question is way out of our wheel house, but throughout my career producers have asked me to do 1 second-long tracks on a CD.
I’ve told them it is impossible because it is out of the Redbook specification of 4 second minimum track length.

Then for the first time I saw a previously released, commercially manufactured CD that DID have many silent tracks in a row that were 1 second long!

After much investigating it might have been made at Masterdisk using the old “PQ Junior” Penguin software from Ralph Kessler and Daniel Weiss.
I don’t know how even that would have worked… yet, I’m looking at them counting up ever second as I write this!

Thanks if anyone has any ideas how to create these 1 second tracks as I’m being asked to do what was done before again!

Bob Ludwig
