They don’t sound anything like that on the CD of Sound City, either :-( The film soundtrack is awesome, but they squashed it flat in the mastering…

I enjoyed the film but lots of gear fetishism - they seem to miss the fact that there were talented engineers and musicians working in those rooms, and using all that old gear…!
