Of course: it should always be possible to turn off normalisation. But it should be on by default...

I agree completely. Those watermarks are worse than MP3 encoding. Tidal told us they will replace the files with watermarks, but I have no idea what the status of that project is. I will meet them mid May in Munich and will ask them.

Can you give me the titles and ID's? I can forward this to them. I agree their QC is not completely watertight. I found a +4 LUFS album with Mozart concertos - that when checking appeared to be a mis-rip with continuous full scale noise...
