Hi Bob L,

thorough congratulations to you for this honour!
I fully feel with you for the discrepancy of yet another crushed product
hitting our ears – and one which obviously doesn’t disturb the committee….
It is a long uphill battle that we have to fight…..
On the day this is finally over, we will make the biggest but quietest celebration ever ☺

Both this and last years Best Engineered-non classical win (The Alabama Shakes and Beck) were masters the mix engineers pre-crushed, and both of those albums ended up being some of the loudest albums I did for the year!

Both times I was shocked that the Grammy Craft Committee thought those albums were worthy of nomination (let alone the shock that they won!).
It makes me want to give up the loudness fight when the accolades from our own engineering community are championing these loud mixes!

Admittedly both albums seem to “live” in that crush in a musical way.  Still I wonder.
