I see (and agree with) what you mean, but this petition is targeted at the average musician etc. They would probably not be attracted to reading academic texts. So I'm all for finding another reference than Wikipedia as long as it offers a popular but in depth explanation of the loudness war. If you have any such reference, please share it.

What we could do is just mention the youtube movie and the MLA link page. The wikipedia link could be one of many on the MLA page.
