<html><head><meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html charset=utf-8"></head><body style="word-wrap: break-word; -webkit-nbsp-mode: space; -webkit-line-break: after-white-space;" class="">Hi Eelco, Bob, and the rest,<div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">I’m happy I can help with the new website. I found an ex-student of mine who just graduated (and is interning at Wisseloord studios), he is also a webdesigner. So he will help us with the graphic aspect.</div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">I would propose the following workflow and timetable:</div><div class="">- Could you please send me some more info about what you want to include on the website (I assume the front page should be a “news-section” where you can write an update every few weeks about what’s happening), then another section with documents & recommendations (with an integrated PDF reader), a contact section and maybe a page with more info about all of you? If you let met know what you want, I’ll create some wireframe drawings that you can all look at and comment on.</div><div class="">- I will then send you the wireframes this Sunday 12/03. You can then obviously send feedback.</div><div class="">- I will send the final wireframes to the designer (Michiel) by Friday 12/08.</div><div class="">- Michiel will create some design mockups and send them to you by 12/17. Again your chance to provide feedback on it.</div><div class="">- Finalised design in CSS by 12/28 and I will have it running on a “temp domain” by New Years (12/31). </div><div class="">- Then you can give feedback again, and when you’re happy, we go live.</div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">Hope this workflow and timeline works for everyone? If not, I'm happy to adjust to whatever you are all looking for.</div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">Best wishes,</div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">Robin</div><div class=""><br class=""><div><blockquote type="cite" class=""><div class="">On 26 Nov 2017, at 12:00, Grimm | Eelco <<a href="mailto:eelco@grimmaudio.com" class="">eelco@grimmaudio.com</a>> wrote:</div><br class="Apple-interchange-newline"><div class=""><meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html charset=us-ascii" class=""><div style="word-wrap: break-word; -webkit-nbsp-mode: space; -webkit-line-break: after-white-space;" class=""><div class="">Hi Bob, and welcome Robin!</div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">Great news, this seems like the ideal solution for MLA. <div text="#000000" bgcolor="#FFFFFF" class=""><p class="">Hi guys! Happy post-Thanksgiving! cc to Robin Reumers.<br class="">
</p><p class="">I've met with Robin and we have a very good mechanism for
upgrading and moving the MLA site. I initially proposed to him to
keep the site at my ISP because I control the DNS and it's already
pointing to my hosting service, but Robin proposed letting us use
his Amazon-based server, which he maintains. It has many
advantages in addition to security, it has load-balancing and
speedup so that automatically the URL will be served from the
Amazon server nearest to your location. He also will take care of
backup, which will keep incremental copies even to the day if
desired. After a year, there may be some very small Amazon
maintenance site fees which we can contribute, or Robin may offer
to pay them himself and absorb his costs in the gamut of several
sites that he administers for Leapwing Audio, Abbey Road and a few
others that he runs.<br class="">
</p><p class="">All that sounds very fine to me and I told him if he has to buy
any plugins we will contribute to and pay for them. Specifically,
security plugins, if necessary, or any look-and-feel plugins. But
it's a pretty basic site, and probably we don't need any fancy
look-and-feel plugins like I'm using for <a class="moz-txt-link-abbreviated" href="http://www.digido.com/">www.digido.com</a>. We'll see
what they come up with. Before the MLA site was hacked, I had a
dramatic photo I have taken of an Eagle. At the time you guys
seemed to like it. Attached is the photo (if the maillist can
accept attachments) and you can tell me what you think. Or feel
free to offer another photo or image for our new home page! <br class="">
</p><p class="">So, Robin and his team will make up a mockup that we can look at,
criticize and contribute to, and when we decide that it's ready,
I'll change the master DNS to point to our new site. Then within
24 or so hours, it will propagate around the world!</p><p class="">As for content, I asked Robin to implement a way for viewers to
view a PDF file. That way we can edit or create the PDF offline
and submit it to him. Other copy he could change, or if necessary,
give one of us access to the Wordpress back end for refinement.
Any way we like along these lines is workable and he's flexible in
that way.<br class="">
</p><p class="">So, Eelco, can you please add <a class="moz-txt-link-abbreviated" href="mailto:robinreumers@gmail.com">robinreumers@gmail.com</a> to our mail
list. <br class="">
</p><p class=""><br class="">
</p><p class="">Let the games begin!</p><p class=""><br class="">
</p><p class="">Take care all,</p><p class=""><br class="">
