Ok.... you guys win! I just never think of YouTube as a music streaming
service but I see your points. This discussion was only between us, I
NEVER would speak up in any public way about Ian's post.
Well, now we have to move to get Spotify to adopt to AES TD-1008 and
therefore move its target to -16 LUFS and do album normalization
properly. Same for Apple. Not exactly sure how Apple is proceeding with
their new (and much welcomed) -18 LUFS Target to do with Atmos.
And also figure out how any streaming services that are doing upward
normalization are doing it. If I remember correctly, Apple will upward
normalize UNLESS the true peak level would exceed -1 dBTP. I'm ok with
that approach, but not with the peak limiter approach.
And who knows what Amazon music is doing?
