[MLA] Loudness War in New York Times

Dear Kevin: As Eelco pointed out, in Bob Ludwig's rarefied circle, these
kinds of abuses occur so often they are the rule rather than the
exception. I attract many wonderful (thank goodness) Indie artists who
specifically come to me for the quality of work that I do. So now I'm
the exception that proves the rule. I'm very proud of a lot of the work
that I do. I don't know how I could continue in this business if I did
not love what I do....

And most of the popular music masters that I supply to the world fall in
a program level range from -16 LUFS to (only occasionally) -14 LUFS. And
the clients are buying it. I'm a very very lucky guy. I get to make the
best sounding masters...

It's a cruel, cruel world. Very few mastering engineers are still in my
position.
